After revealing that he asked his girlfriend for a list of men she has slept with, Cam Newton said he's done the same for her.
Newton, who's the new host of BET's 106 & Sports, was on The Breakfast Club alongside co-host Ashley Nicole Moss on Wednesday (Oct. 8), where they spoke about knowing who your partner has been with.
The interview came days after the retired NFL player shared on his Funky Friday podcast that he asked his girlfriend, Jasmin Brown, for a list of her past sexual partners. The couple is currently expecting their second child.
After Moss theorized that she'd reveal her body count if her partner will potentially run into the person, Newton gave his perspective.
"Are y'all still talking? The simple question is I just want to know your list," Newton said around the five-minute mark, adding, "One-off or ten-off, it still counts."
Newton expressed that people should "lead everything so you don't mess up a vibe," just in case a person has a close call with someone their partner had sex with. The athlete also acknowledged that what "works" for him may not be the same for others.
Elsewhere, Newton said that the conversation is more about if his partner is "willing" to tell him about her sexual history and that nothing should be "off limits."
"Because now, it's a deeper rooted issue. If you're going to go to hell with this information, what else are you willing to keep or what do you get to decide?" he said. "What's worth telling me or not?"
Newton said he doubts that someone can fully "love" a person if they don't "know" them. When Breakfast Club co-host Jess Hilarious interjected to ask Newton if he gave Brown his "list," he answered, "absolutely."
"See, you're thinking about the initial question, but not the reasoning behind the question. If you're willing to go over and beyond and say, 'Hey, I did this, I did that, I did that, I did that.' I'm not going to say how many times," he explained.
"I just really want to know if you're willing to open up and answer the question because, like I said, it's a deeper rooted issue that, 'Hey, we in some real stuff. Tell me what you did.'"
On Funky Fridays last week, Newton said he's "owed" a list from Brown and that the request "has nothing to do with insecurity."
