Roman Reigns has been called a lot of things over the course of his career—dominant, polarizing, even the “face of the company.” But one tag that continues to follow him is the question of whether he’s overrated.

On the latest episode of Kliq This, which dropped on Monday, October 6, WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash made it clear where he stands on the topic.

The debate kicked off when a listener asked if it was time to admit that Reigns might not be as good as billed. Nash didn’t hesitate. “See, here’s the thing, man—it’s all how someone’s being used or underused,” he said.

Rather than dismissing the criticism outright, Nash encouraged fans to keep the bigger picture in mind. He pointed to the ongoing Bloodline saga, particularly the way the Usos’ storylines have tied into Reigns’ run.

“Let’s wait and see where this Uso thing goes,” Nash explained, suggesting the angle has more layers still to play out.

When it comes to presence, Nash believes Reigns has qualities that separate him from his peers. “When he comes out, man, there’s a charisma and a star quality to him that is another step above everybody else,” he said.

For Nash, the appeal isn’t just about booking. It’s about looking the part and backing it up. “When a guy looks like a wrestler to me, there’s some instant credibility that happens,” he continued. “If they can actually work, if they are a good character—and if they can manifest that character to keep it interesting—I think I’m okay with Roman on all those.”

He admitted there have been better performers historically, but he’s firm that Reigns checks all the boxes: charisma, ring ability, and presence.

More importantly, Nash said he’d rather watch Reigns in the top spot than some of the other names currently main-eventing. “Right now, I’d rather see him working the top than some of the people that have been main eventing on Raw,” he said.

Size, Nash added, also plays a factor in making a believable headliner. “He’s bigger than the other three or four guys that are in that top spot,” Nash noted.

Ultimately, while critics continue to debate, Kevin Nash isn’t buying the “overrated” label. To him, Roman Reigns isn’t just holding down the top of the card—he’s still proving why he belongs there.
