Kid Cudi’s “Maui Wowie,” a track from his 2008 mixtape A Kid Named Cudi, is enjoying one hell of a resurgence thanks to TikTok.

In recent weeks, you may have noticed a portion of the track soundtracking no shortage of street sign-dangling videos on the platform. For now, Cudi doesn’t appear to have directly addressed the trend, though the song’s revived popularity has already led to some charts movement.

In the video, as emulated in subsequent uploads from other TikTok users, he’s seen hanging from a crosswalk sign as Cudi sings the weed strain-celebrating chorus, “Goin’ back to Honolulu just to get that/That Maui Wowie, that Maui Wowie.”

More videos followed, culminating in the full-fledged TikTok trend you’re reading about now.
