"You got people who get them and pee on them," Pharrell said of his and Clipse's Grammy ambitions for 'Let God Sort Em Out.'

Pharrell seemingly alluded to the artist formerly known as Kanye West’s 2020 decision to urinate on a Grammy trophy.

In a conversation with Michael Saponara for Billboard, Pharrell, who produced Clipse’s comeback album Let God Sort Em Out, spoke about his and the duo’s shared desire to bring home a Grammy “for our parents.”

As Pharrell put it, “this is their time” to be recognized by the Recording Academy.

“You got people who get them and pee on them, and we ain’t doing none of that,” Pharrell jokingly said in the interview, linked here. “We want them for our parents.”

The comment was seemingly a reference to the time Ye shared a clip to social media in which he appeared to be urinating on one of his trophies.

“Trust me … I WON’T STOP,” Ye, a 24-time Grammy winner, said in an update to X, then known as Twitter, back in 2020.

Clipse currently have one Grammy nomination to their name: Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for Justin Timberlake’s Neptunes-produced “Like I Love You.”

As a solo artist, Pusha T has earned six total nominations, including in the Best Rap Album category for It’s Almost Dry, which had production from both Pharrell and Ye.
