As promised, Cardi B has released an Instagram video for her BIA-dissing Am I the Drama? track “Pretty & Petty.”
Previously, Cardi told fans she was temporarily holding off on sharing an IG video for the song due to its would-be release earlier this month coinciding with the rollout of BIA’s Bianca album.
“I know how stressful it is to put an album out and I know how fucked up you be in the mind when you put an album out and shit, so I feel like if I do a video to ‘Pretty & Petty as Fuck’ this week or today, I feel like I would be bullying,” Cardi told fans during a recent livestream, referencing the Oct. 10 release of BIA’s album. “I don’t wanna feel like a bully. Because when I bully, then God takes from me.”
The IG video, shared Oct. 19 and available in full below, sees Cardi rapping along to key parts of the much-discussed track, including the first verse’s widely headlined lyric “Name five BIA songs, gun pointin’ to your head/Bow, I’m dead.”
“Pretty & Petty… and pregnant,” Cardi captioned the video.
During an album-promoting appearance on The Breakfast Club last week, BIA addressed whether fans can expect an imminent response to Cardi’s “Pretty & Petty” diss. During the interview, BIA argued that “this isn’t even about her” but is instead “about real artists, like the artists that get up and go to the studio and care about the creative and do their work and have limited resources.” She also said that making the Bianca rollout a Cardi-focused affair would mark “a disservice” to herself.
“There’s so much more importance to my message and what I’m here for than to rap beef,” BIA said at the time. “I’ve been out for over 10 years and I’ve never gotten into a rap beef. That says a lot about me. I have great relationships in this business because I carry myself a certain way. Why would I ruin that? I can address it any time but I’m just here for a bigger mission right now.”
