Cardi B is letting fans know she had plans to release an Instagram video for her BIA-dissing Am I the Drama? track “Pretty & Petty,” though she ultimately decided that releasing such a clip at this particular moment would feel like she was engaging in “bullying.”
Speaking to fans during a recent livestream, Cardi, recently named among Latto’s proverbial Mount Rushmore picks alongside Nicki Minaj, pointed to the “stress” of dropping an album as having inspired her decision. BIA, notably, released her latest project, Bianca, on Friday, Oct. 10.
“I know how stressful it is to put an album out and I know how fucked up you be in the mind when you put an album out and shit, so I feel like if I do a video to ‘Pretty & Petty as Fuck’ this week or today, I feel like I would be bullying,” Cardi told fans. “I don’t wanna feel like a bully. Because when I bully, then God takes from me.”
Cardi continued, “If the bitch ain’t messing with me and she didn’t sub me in her fucking dusty ass album, I’m not gonna do a video, like, reciting her diss track and shit like that on a day that I know she’s stressed. Because then God will punish me. So I’ll do a video tomorrow morning to another song. Probably next week, I’ll do a video for ‘Pretty & Petty as Fuck.’ I’mma be nice to you because it’s your album day. I don’t wanna add to your stress. I’m not that bad person that people think I am.”
Cardi didn’t mention BIA by name during the livestream, though it was clear who she was talking about. This is the same approach she previously utilized when responding to BIA’s Hot 97 interview, as seen here.
