Curtains up!
The Life of a Showgirl, the 12th studio album from Taylor Swift, has arrived.
Swift not only confirmed the arrival of the 12-track album during her Guinness World Record appearance on her fiancé Travis and Jason Kelce's New Heights podcast, but she also unveiled the album cover, and announced the release date.
Taylor divulged on the podcast that she was working on The Life of a Showgirl during the European leg of The Eras Tour.
"I would be playing shows. I'd do, like, three shows in a row. I'd have three days off," she recalled. "I'd fly to Sweden, go back to the tour, and actually, like, working on this: I was physically exhausted at this point in the tour, but I was so mentally stimulated and so excited to be creating."
"Literally living the life of a showgirl," Travis commented, to which Swift quipped, "I was. That's why I called it that. Nailed it."
Sabrina Carpenter, who was the opener for a handful of dates on The Eras Tour, is the only known feature on The Life of a Showgirl.
Taylor announced a new era in her personal life in late August, sharing that she and Kelce were engaged after two years together. "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married đ§š" the caption of their joint post reads.
Following the box office success of 2023's Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film, the singer is pairing the release of The Life of a Showgirl with The Official Release Party of a Showgirl at AMC Theaters, from Oct. 3 through Oct. 5.
The 89-minute big screen experience will include the music video premiere of "The Fate of Ophelia," as well as "behind-the-scenes footage from the music video shoot, brand new lyric videos, and Taylorâs never-before-seen personal reflections on songs from her 12th studio album," according to the feature's description.
