Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift will soon be married.
On Tuesday (August 26), the couple, who've dated since July 2023, surprised their Instagram followers with news that Kelce had proposed and the "Love Story" singer accepted.
"Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨" the caption of the joint post read.
According to TMZ, the engagement ring is a hand engraved "old mine brilliant cut" designed by Kindred Lubeck.
Swift and Kelce’s romance began shortly after the 14-time Grammy winner was teasingly put "on blast" on the NFL star's podcast New Heights, which the singer recalled in a December 2023 interview with TIME.
"We started hanging out right after that," she told the publication. "So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple."
With Swift having supported Kelce at Kansas City Chiefs games, including their back-to-back Super Bowl appearances this year and last year, the tight end also supported his now-fiancée during stops on her Eras Tour. Last June, Kelce made his concert debut as a dancer during Swift's performance of "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart" at Wembley Stadium in London.
"I was just like, ‘What? I would love to do that. Are you kidding me?' I’ve seen the show enough—might as well put me to work here,'" Kelce told his older brother, Jason, on the season two finale of New Heights last year. "And sure enough, she found the perfect part of the show for me to come in."
Swift, who will soon release her twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, was a guest on New Heights earlier this month and recalled her embarrassing question about football during her first date with Kelce.
"On our first date, I literally, I legitimately asked him, what it was like when the Chiefs played the Eagles in the Super Bowl, and he looked across the field, across the line of scrimmage, and saw his brother standing on the other…like five feet in front of him on the field," she said around the nine-minute mark of the video above.
Despite Swift's "insane question," her relationship with Kelce has gone strong, and they'll soon be hearing wedding bells.
