Latto has officially confirmed that she and 21 Savage are a couple.
The Sugar Honey Iced Tea rapper told TMZ on Monday (Sept. 29) that she was on her way “to go have this dinner with my husband" in New York City.
“Wait, so are you tired of people asking about you-know-who?” a photographer asked before she clarified that she meant 21 Savage.
“No,” she replied politely, before giving an enthusiastic, “My man, my man, my man, my man.”
Despite rumors of their romance swirling since December 2020, the couple has kept their relationship mostly private.
In March 2022, Latto released her single “Wheelie” featuring 21 Savage, just days after her hit “Big Energy” entered the top 20 of Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.
Later that year, Savage dismissed any speculation of a romance between them during a Clubhouse session, saying, “I don’t got a celebrity girlfriend.”
Despite several denials, rumors intensified when fans noticed a tattoo behind Latto’s ear that appeared to read “Shéyaa,” which many interpreted as a reference to 21 Savage’s birth name, Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph.
In May 2023, Hollywood Unlocked’s Jason Lee claimed that after posting a photo of the tattoo, he was contacted by Latto’s team asking him to take it down.
“I thought it was a fake fan playing around on my phone,” Lee told Complex at the time, saying that his team eventually identified the number as Latto’s publicist and refused to take down the post, even after allegedly being offered money.
He also mentioned he hadn’t heard back from Latto, speculating that her silence may have had to do with Savage’s rumored marital status related to his immigration case.
By August 2024, Latto continued to deflect public curiosity about her dating life.
“The internet don’t know a got-damn thing. Let’s start there,” she told Ebro Darden in an interview with Apple Music. “It ain’t really nobody’s business. Like, listen to the music and you’ll know what you need to know.”
