21 Savage has suggested that he’s going to release new music soon.

The rapper appeared on a stream with DJ Akademiks after the release of Young Thug’s UY SCUTI album, and gave the media personality an indicator that he’s preparing to share music with his fans.

"I'm working on it, on God,” said Savage when asked by Akademiks. “It's gotta be right. I ain't fitting to drop no bullshit."

After Akademiks expressed disbelief that Savage would be dropping, the rapper then doubled down to make it clear that he’s planning to.

“Bruh, it's on the way, I promise,” Savage said. “I swear I'm about to drop, on God."

Savage’s most recent release was American Dream, his third studio album, featuring Lil Durk, Summer Walker, Travis Scott, and more. It came out in January, 2024.

As far as recent music news when it comes to Savage, the rapper had a scene-stealing verse on UY SCUTI, on the track “Walk Down." In it, he references ASAP Rocky’s assault trial.

On the track, Savage raps, “I ain’t ASAP Rocky, these ain’t blanks” — a clear reference to Rocky’s claim during the trial that he carries around a prop gun instead of a real firearm.

Savage also seemingly confirmed the longstanding rumor that he’s dating Latto on his appearance on Hunxho’s new track, “If Only.”

Savage raps, “Ain’t no pullin’ out, she told me to keep it in / I done fell in love with the cheetah print.” It’s seemingly in reference to Latto, who has practically become the face of cheetah print in her personal style, branding, and merchandise.
