Rampage Jackson Supports Jail Time for Son’s Wrestling Attack: ‘You Gotta Control Your Emotions’

The former UFC champion also spoke about his reasons for not speaking with Raja since the incident.

Quinton "Rampage" Jackson believes his son Raja should spend "a little time" in jail for his brutal attack on Syko Stu at a Knokx Pro Wrestling event last month.

In an exclusive interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, Jackson said he was supportive of Raja spending time in jail for the attack, but does not think his son deserves years in prison.

"If the judge thinks he should go to jail, yeah, I think Raja should go to jail, so he’ll learn not to do this shit no more," he said. "Like, you gotta control your emotions. People are saying he should go to jail for 10 years, no, he should go to jail, not prison. He should go to jail. Do a little time, and then get some therapy, and learn from this."

Jackson added that if Raja were to face years behind bars, he would fight it in court because he just wants his son to temporarily experience the feeling of incarceration in the hopes that his oldest child would not want to go back ever again.

"If they try to give him years in prison, then I’mma fight it because I don’t think he deserves years in prison," he said. "But jail? Let Raja go to jail for a couple days, so he’ll see what it’s like, so he’ll be like, 'Man, I don't wanna come back here.'"

“I think that he should do a little time," he added. "Do a little community service, and go to anger management class, seek some therapy."

When asked for an update on Raja, Jackson said he's clueless because the former UFC champion is not talking to his son at the moment. Aside from taking care of his legal fees, Rampage is not extending himself any further right now because of his disappointment towards his son.

“I’m paying for his legal fees. I’m here for him, for that," he said. "Raja, he wanna be an adult. He wanna do everything his way. He won’t take my advice. I can’t make Raja do anything. But Raja has been the opposite of whatever I’ve been telling him to do. He’s my son. I love him dearly, but he dishonored my name."

In response to Helwani questioning how he could cut off his son at this point in his life, Jackson explained that his son's actions have resulted in death threats towards his family, including his other children.

“I talked to him after the shit happened, and he hid the fact that he did this shit, and he put my other kids in danger, based off what other people are saying," he said. "I just can’t talk to him right now. I’m not saying I’m never going to talk to him again. I just can’t talk to him right now. I need some time. I’m dealing with his attorneys, and all this shit. I’m very disappointed in Raja.”
