A Philadelphia Phillies fan has made headlines after angrily demanding a home run ball from a father and son — on the kid's birthday.

During the Phillies vs. Miami Marlins game on Friday (September 5), center fielder Harrison Bader hit a home run, which landed in the stands of Citizen Bank Park. A group of adults attempted to grab the ball, with one woman being too slow for a man who promptly picked it up and brought it over to his son.

This didn't stop the woman from following the man and accusing him of taking the ball. The man appeared startled at the confrontation and engaged in a brief argument with the woman before giving in, taking the ball back, and giving it to the woman.

After seeing the woman's aggressive approach, a rep for the Marlins graciously delivered a gift bag to the boy, who was celebrating his birthday. The Phillies, who won the game 9-3, also surprised the boy with a meet-and-greet with Bader, who signed a bat for the young fan.

This summer has been chaotic for item-stealing during sports events. During another Marlins game on August 29 — this time against the New York Metsa fan cruelly wiped a baseball from an older gentleman and unapologetically returned to his seat.

The previous day, during the US Open, millionaire Polish businessman Piotr Szczerek snatched a Kamil Majchrzak-signed hat from a young boy standing beside him. The tennis star would ultimately make things right and met with the child for a photo-op, while Szczerek later issued an apology.
