Paige may be stepping back into the ring sooner than fans expected.
The former WWE Divas Champion—known today by her real name, Saraya—is a free agent after her AEW run and says she feels ready for another in-ring chapter.
The 32-year-old opened up on Busted Open Radio with Dave LaGreca and Natalya Neidhart while promoting her memoir. She revealed that her time away from wrestling reignited the fire that first made her one of WWE’s most popular stars.
“I miss being in the locker room. I miss being around people like Natty. I miss my sisters. I miss being a part of these things,” she said, noting her continued affection for the company where she made her name.
Watching AJ Lee’s surprise return also hit home for her. Saraya called Lee her “fairy godmother,” explaining, “She was one that took me under her wing when I first came up on the roster, and we traveled together. When I watched AJ, I’ve watched that over and over again, because she’s my fairy godmother.”
The fan response has been just as emotional. Social media clips calling for her return have flooded her mentions. “People still like me, and they still want me to be around,” she admitted. “That’s probably the best feeling in the world for me.”
Saraya’s career was derailed in 2018 after serious neck injuries forced her into retirement. But today she says her health is back where it needs to be.
“My career was cut short with the neck, but now my neck is healthy. I’m in full health. I want to start training again. I want to get in the ring and bring back the Paige that I was in NXT,” she said.
Her plan is to head to the Hart Family Dungeon—under Natalya’s guidance—to rebuild her cardio and shake off ring rust. “I want to be Paige again, like the way she wrestled in NXT, and I want to upgrade her. I’m not going to be crazy, but I want to do the new generation style of wrestling,” she said.
