Kelly Osbourne has broken her silence about the death of her father, Ozzy Osbourne.

The former Black Sabbath frontman died on July 22 at the age of 76. The official cause of his death was a heart attack.

Kelly took to her Instagram stories to post a message in the wake of this family tragedy. She thanked her father's legion of fans for their support in the wake of an emotional funeral in his hometown of Birmingham, England, where millions turned up to pay their respects.

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, Kelly wrote in an Instagram story, "I've sat down to write this a hundred times and still don't know if the words will ever feel like enough... but from the bottom of my heart, thank you."

She continued, "The love, support, and beautiful messages I've received from so many of you have truly helped carry me through the hardest moment of my life. Every kind word, every shared memory, every bit of compassion has meant more than I can ever explain.”

Kelly wrote that “Grief is a strange thing. It sneaks up on you in waves. I won’t be OK for a while.”

The television personality continued, “But knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference. I’m holding on tight to the love, the light, and the legacy he left behind.”

Just three weeks before Ozzy’s death, he played a final show with the original members of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath. In attendance were guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Terence Butler ("Geezer"), and drummer Bill Ward. The group played a final concert before a crowd of 40,000 at England’s Villa Park.

He told the crowd, “I just want to say to you on behalf of the guys in Black Sabbath and myself, your support over the years has made it all possible for us to live the lifestyle that we do. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you. We love you."

Ozzy is survived by his wife, Sharon Osbourne, and children Jack, Kelly, Aimee, and Louis.
