It's a sad day in the world of rock and roll, as the 'Prince of Darkness' Ozzy Osbourne was laid to rest in an emotional ceremony.

The rock legend's widow, Sharon Osbourne, was joined by the couple's kids Jack, Kelly and Aimee in a procession through the streets of Birmingham—where Ozzy grew up.

The family was understandably emotional, with Sharon's kids supporting her as they cried and fans looked on in remembrance. Despite their enormous grief, the family still showed appreciation to fans who turned out in massive numbers to remember Ozzy.

The family also took a moment to stop at a memorial made at the intersection of Black Sabbath Bench and Bridge to lay down flowers in the mass of notes, photos and bouquets.

Sharon and kids were all dressed in black, and Sharon wore a necklace with a ring on it, which is presumed to have belonged to Ozzy.

Also in attendance was Ozzy's first wife, Thelma Riley, and their son Louis.

The Osbourne family announced Ozzy's death July 22 with a statement that read, "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”

Since then, they haven't publicly addressed his death, though Sharon did comment "Bless You" on a Gavin Rossdale Instagram tribute to the late rocker.

Ozzy took the stage one last time just two weeks before his death in a concert titled Back to the Beginning, in Birmingham.

The show featured some of rock's biggest acts, including Metallica, Guns N' Roses and Slayer. Ozzy took the stage, performing from a throne as he was unable to stand because of his battle with Parkinson's Disease.

The show also marked the first time since 2005 the original members of Black Sabbath took the stage—playing some of the band's biggest hits.
