Mainly Mannie — a TikTok and Instagram influencer with more than 1.7 million followers combined — has given fans a major health update.
On Saturday, October 11, the influencer posted a video to his TikTok page, revealing that he was recently diagnosed with HIV.
"I’m so glad that life has finally started for me! I’ve always been grateful & honestly truthfully with everyone on here!" Mannie's post was captioned.
"Sorry I thought otherwise 🥹 I’m starting myself back real soon! I know I said things before ! But the is REAL ON MY END! God bless each and every one who has HIV/AIDS #Godisamazing your health is important."
On Instagram, Mannie says, "HEY I’m Mannie known as BOSS&CEO and I do videos weather you laugh or not I ENTERTAIN 😌💙" He has 383,000 followers on that platform.
One video Mannie shared on Instagram shows him using a walker in a hospital room.
"I'm in rehab still, learning to walk," Mannie said in a second Instagram video. "I'm not good yet, but I can at least stand up. I'm making it my mission to reply back to everyone." Mannie grew emotional as he thanked his fans.
Mannie also shared a GoFundMe page on Instagram. The fundraiser was organized by Emmanuel Croxton.
"Hey, you guys well known comedian here that has just been diagnosed with AIDS HIV the reason why I even have a GoFundMe is because the price of the pills they’re 4000 a month and other cost for the other day you need," the page's organizer wrote.
"I do plan on giving some money to charities that support HIV and people that can’t afford. I have a platform with so many great supporters so I know I can’t die out here. I have great support and I’ll survive. I do this go fund me to help others because it’s the right thing to do!"
A supporter wrote, "Our hearts go out to you, as does our support. We appreciate you for all of the joy you've brought so many over the years and we look forward to what's next on your journey. Be blessed and #stayready."
Another fan donated and responded, "Long time supporter and buddy! I’m praying for you, there’s been so many medical advances, with the proper care and management, you’ll be back to normal in no time! You’ve brought my family and I so much joy, I’m glad to be able to do something for you."
