TikTok personality and food reviewer John Crawley, known as 'KingBeardX,' has died at 47 years old.
Throughout his time on the app, Crawley amassed 2.5 million followers, with his TikToks being hilarious reactions to strange meals. Among Crawley's final posts was a video on July 22 about planning a meet and greet in Albany, Mississippi, which he never got to host.
According to TMZ, Crawley died on Monday (August 18) at a local hospital from a cardiac arrest. Confirming Crawley's death was Glenfield Funeral Home funeral director James Steele, who revealed that Crawley was hospitalized for a little over two weeks.
"Knowing him personally, John was a good guy. He lit up a lot of people's worlds," Steele told the outlet. "I just left his house and was with his mother, we prayed together. She's torn up right now but she's going to make it."
His friend and fellow podcaster Anthony Caruso said that Crawley was hospitalized after having difficulty breathing, after which he was later placed on a ventilator and given a tube thoracotomy after his breathing stopped entirely.
Caruso started a GoFundMe for Crawley, which currently has a $9,000 goal, as the late TikToker did not have medical insurance. The proceeds will go towards funeral costs and Crawley's surviving family members.
"I'm really sorry to tell everyone the bad news but Pimpmunkx (KingBeardx) passed away yesterday," read a GFM update from Caruso. "Thank you to everyone that has supported the fundraiser so far. His mother says told me to thank you all."
