Jennifer Lopez says she is looking ahead with confidence and gratitude, one year after filing for divorce from Ben Affleck.
The singer and actress, who turned 56 in July, has packed her calendar since the split. She’s been on the road with her Up All Night Tour, which kicked off in Spain and traveled across Europe this summer before wrapping in Sardinia.
According to a source who spoke with PEOPLE, “She’s been having the time of her life this summer. She loved connecting with fans all over the world. The tour was amazing. It’s been a great focus for her. She’s been doing what she really enjoys.”
The year hasn’t been all about music. Lopez has been steadily building her film career, starting with the wrestling drama Unstoppable. The biopic premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, where she appeared alongside producer Matt Damon. She also received Variety’s Legend and Groundbreakers award in January, recognizing both her performance in Unstoppable and her decades of achievement.
Now, Lopez is preparing to showcase a different side of her artistry. Her upcoming movie musical Kiss of the Spider Woman—which she filmed in New York while navigating her breakup—will hit theaters on Oct. 10. A source close to the star said, “She’s come a long way since. She’s very happy and just grateful for her life.”
Lopez herself told audiences at Sundance earlier this year that she had been “waiting for this moment my whole life.”
The projects keep coming. In addition to Kiss of the Spider Woman, Lopez is set to star in Netflix’s Office Romance opposite Brett Goldstein and will headline The Last Mrs. Parrish, directed by Robert Zemeckis. She also announced a Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace beginning Dec. 30, where she’ll close out 2025 and ring in the new year onstage.
Lopez and Affleck, who had listed April 26, 2024, as their separation date, finalized their divorce in January of this year.
