Pokimane Says Her Staff Refused to Upload Hasan Piker Podcast Episode 'Out of Fear It'd Cause Drama'

She said that her staff shared a statement without her approval, which alluded to speculation that Hasan used a shock collar on his dog.

Twitch streamer Pokimane revealed that her staff refused to upload the latest episode of the Sweet n Sour podcast because it featured streamer Hasan Piker, also known as HasanAbi.

Last week, the Patreon for the Sweet n Sour podcast, which Pokimane co-hosts with LilyPichu, shared a statement announcing that a new episode featuring Hasan would not be uploaded because of the current drama he has found himself in. During a recent stream, Hasan’s dog Kaya yelped, and people accused him of using a shock collar on her. He has since denied the accusations, but that hasn’t stopped many of his critics, including xQc, from accusing him of lying.

Amid the controversy, the Sweet n Sour Patreon announced that Hasan’s episode would not be uploaded on Saturday (Oct. 11). “We’ve been watching the recent drama unfold concerning our guest and it’s been getting intense,” read the statement. “We had a serious talk as a crew, and we all agreed that it did not feel right uploading tomorrow’s episode at this moment in time.”

Pokimane, who is friends with Hasan, has since addressed the matter and suggested that she had no involvement in the decision not to upload the episode. “The episode was supposed to air as usual but staff refused to upload it out of fear it’d cause drama & also posted this statement without my approval :(,” she wrote. “Sorry guys! We’ll talk about everything on this week’s episode & go on a hiatus afterwards to restructure.”

Hasan recently responded to the controversy, saying that claims his dog was “being abused” came from “crazy haters,” of which he has many because of his left-wing politics and outspoken stance on the genocide of Palestinians.“They’re claiming the most well-trained and the most spoiled, best-kept-after dog on the planet is actually being abused by me, apparently,” Hasan said. “Because I gave her the place command while she was getting off [the bed] and then she yelped.”

He laughed off the idea that he was shocking her with a button on his desk, suggesting it was something a villain would do in their “evil lair” in a movie. “Good thing I didn’t hit the fucking trap door button instead on accident,” he added. Hasan also noted that she “either stepped funny or clipped her fucking foot on something” when she yelped.
