Hasan Piker, a.k.a. HasanAbi on Twitch, is attributing claims of his dog Kaya “being abused” by him to “crazy haters.”

In the clip seen below, Hasan addressed the claims, which appear to have spread in certain corners of X in connection with footage of the dog making a short yelp sound during a stream.

“They’re claiming the most well-trained and the most spoiled, best-kept-after dog on the planet is actually being abused by me, apparently,” Hasan said. “Because I gave her the place command while she was getting off [the bed] and then she yelped.”

According to Hasan, Kaya “broke” her previous bed.

“I suspect it’s coming from, you know, some crazy haters,” Hasan said of the ensuing claims before jokingly responding to a comment from the stream’s chat. “‘They said you shocked her with a button.’ Yeah, in my evil lair. Good thing I didn’t hit the fucking trap door button instead on accident.”

As for the yelp itself, Hasan said it’s likely Kaya “either stepped funny or clipped her fucking foot on something.”

In June, Hasan made headlines after being among a group of protesters who were kettled and flash-banged at a demonstration against ICE. Earlier this year, he used his popularity as a progressive streaming personality to bring attention to incarcerated firefighters who were risking their lives while battling devastating fires in the Los Angeles area.

“A lot of us made decisions before our brain was able to develop—before the age of 25,” one incarcerated individual told the streamer at the time. “This is our second chance. At this point, it’s a blessing.”
