Tyrese Gibson and Danny Trejo are set to return to the silver screen this fall.
The two star in the upcoming action thriller The Wrecker, which was directed by veteran action filmmaker Art Camacho — whose credits also include The Power Within, Sci-Fighter, and Assassin X. Also in the movie are Harvey Keitel, Mena Suvari, Chad Michael Collins, and Niko Foster — the latter playing the lead role.
On Friday, September 12, Deadline reported that The Wrecker will be released in U.S. theaters on Friday, October 31. According to the publication, The Wrecker tells the story of “Tony (Foster), a former Marine trying to rebuild his life as a mechanic — until his brother (Collins) crosses the wrong people and ignites a violent chain of events. With his back against the wall, Tony must draw on his tactical training to protect his family and survive a deadly showdown with a powerful crime syndicate.”
The Wrecker was first announced in 2023. The film was shot entirely in Las Vegas. A social media post from the movie’s official Instagram account describes the titular wrecker as someone who’s “not here to play by the rules — he’s here to break them.” Another promises “high-octane action, brutal justice, and a performance that hits like a sledgehammer.”
Gibson reportedly plays Detective Boswell and Keitel plays a feared crime boss named Dante. Additionally, Trejo portrays a man named Eduardo and Suvari plays a woman named Cheryl. Also in the cast are Oleg Prudius, Doug Jeffery, and Ego Mikitas.
The Wrecker is produced by Al Bravo Films in association with Chasing Butterflies and ITN. Foster also serves as an executive producer on the film, along with Stuart Alson and Elias Axume.
Upon its release, The Wrecker will have a limited theatrical component. A trailer is expected to premiere in the coming days.
