Euphoria’s long-awaited third season is almost upon us, and fans might now know when they can expect it.

The third season of HBO’s hit Gen-Z drama began filming earlier this year — four years after the second season finale ended. Production on season 3 is expected to wrap in the coming weeks, which means we can expect the final product in the not-so-distant future.

In an interview with Variety following the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 14, Casey Bloys — chairman and CEO of HBO and Max Content — shared when we can expect Euphoria’s third season.

“It’ll be the spring,” Bloys said, “but we don’t have a date confirmed yet.”

The first two seasons of Euphoria tell the story of Rue Bennett (Zendaya) navigating high school as she is grappling with drug addiction and relapses. Her classmates Jules Vaughn (Hunter Schafer), Cassie Howard (Sydney Sweeney), Lexi Howard (Maude Apatow), Nate Jacobs (Jacob Elordi), and Maddie Perez (Alexa Demie) all deal with their own journeys — which comprise of sex, partying, relationships, heartbreak, substance abuse, and existential crises.

Given the time between the show’s second and third season, the show’s timeline will implement a jump, and viewers will get to see the characters as adults.

All of the aforementioned characters are expected to return, as well as Colman Domingo as Ali, Rue’s NA sponsor; Eric Dane as Cal Jacobs, Nate’s father; and Alanna Ubach as Suzie, Cassie and Lexi’s mother; Martha Kelly as Laurie, a frightening drug supplier; Dominic Fike as Rue and Jules’ ex Elliott; and Chloe Cherry as Faye.

Not returning are the late Angus Cloud, who played Rue’s drug dealer Fez, Storm Reid, who played Rue’s sister Gia; Nika King, who played Rue’s mother Leslie; Barbie Ferreira, who played Rue’s classmate Kat; and Austin Abrams, who played Kat’s boyfriend Ethan.

Season 3 will also introduce several new characters played by Spanish singer Rosalía, Basic Instinct actress Sharon Stone, Kadeem Hardison — who previously co-starred with Zendaya on KC Undercover — Priscilla Delgado, Anna Van Patten, Marshawn Lynch, Toby Wallace, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Darrell Britt-Gibson, and James Landry Hebert.

Labrinth will return to score the show, and is being joined by Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer.
