The first week sales projections for Cardi B’s record-breaking new album, Am I The Drama?, are here.
Hits Daily Double reports that the project could hit over 100 million total streams in its first week. The outlet further estimates that it'll move between 125,000 and 150,000 album-equivalent units — though the prediction, it says, comes "with some caveats."
Cardi’s Am I The Drama? is her long-awaited follow-up to her 2018 debut album, Invasion of Privacy. Upon her new LP’s release, the project was certified platinum by the RIAA after only being out for a day.
This was largely due to the fact that Am I The Drama? includes her 2020 collab with Megan Thee Stallion, “WAP,” and her 2021 five-time platinum single, “Up.” Both songs ended up peaking at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
It’s worth noting that both songs will not be recognized in her first-week sales on the Billboard 200 because neither track was a part of the album’s release window. Cardi spoke about that and their inclusion on the LP in a lengthy post addressing fans about them.
“WAP and UP are two of my biggest songs, my fans have been asking me to put them on an album,” she wrote. “They deserve a home.”
“These two songs don’t even count for first week sales so what are yall even crying about???” she added.
With the release of Am I The Drama?, Cardi broke a Guinness World Record for “Most deliveries in one hour.” The rapper told her fans on X that Walmart had been delivering the album via drones to fans in Dallas, TX. TMZ reported that the record was broken with 176 drone deliveries.
Cardi’s Am I The Drama? features appearances from Lizzo, Selena Gomez, Summer Walker, and more.
