The Alchemist and Schoolboy Q have hit the booth together for their new track, “Ferraris in the Rain.”
Released by The Alchemist as the lead single from his upcoming album, The Genuine Articulate, set to drop on September 20, “Ferraris In The Rain” is a track where they producer steps into the booth again to lay down some rhymes — the first time he’s ever done that with Schoolboy Q.
“I'm blowin' out your candles/ They hike the ball to me, I'm the quarterback, I know about the scramble,” raps Alchemist, who is also known for his occasional vocal performances.
Schoolboy Q matches the intensity with clever wordplay about beautiful cars. “Rain, rain, take the pain away/White thing off of layaway,” he rhymes.

Alchemist has been having an epic year. Last month, he released a highly anticipated collaboration with Big Sean called “Together Forever.” Back in the midst of Kendrick Lamar’s beef with Drake, he received a producer credit for creating the beat for Lamar’s “Meet the Grahams” — a track he originally sent over to the rapper a while before.
When asked whether it bothered him that Lamar used it for the beef, Alchemist responded with, “Nah but i was extremely bothered and downright livid when i realized that all these years i did not know that Cap’n Crunch’s full name is Horatio Magellan Crunch.”
In February, Alchemist seemingly teased that he could be working with J. Cole sometime in the near future. A fan wrote on X, “J. Cole and Alchemist ever gonna be a thing," prompting Alchemist to respond with several zipper-mouth emojis.
The Alchemist’s upcoming album follows a prolific 2023, during which he released joint projects with Earl Sweatshirt (Voir Dire), Mike and Wiki (Faith Is A Rock), and Larry June (The Great Escape).
