Young Thug has given fans an update on his relationship status, revealing during a recent appearance on Adin Ross’s stream that he “got broke up with.”

Thug, as fans know, has been romantically linked to Mariah the Scientist for some time now. While Mariah does indeed appear on Thug’s new album UY SCUTI, speculation has been high as of late regarding whether the two were still together.

Question marks have been raised in recent weeks due to cheating allegations tucked into leaked phone calls, which perhaps explains the more somber tone of one of two Mariah features on the album, “Dreams Rarely Do Come True.”

Speaking with Adin on Tuesday, Thug pointed to a recent breakup, though he didn’t mention Mariah by name.

“I got broke up with, n***a,” Thug said. “But I still got, I got a girl. She probably don’t got a boyfriend but I got a girlfriend.”

Elsewhere, Mariah was specifically named by Thug when discussing what inspired him to push through his experience while behind bars. As previously reported, Thug was released from jail in October of last year after spending more than two years in custody amid the extensively covered, widely criticized YSL RICO trial in Georgia.

“I think just, like, talking to my kids, goddamn, talking to Mariah every day on the phone,” Thug said of what got him through this period. “All those phone conversations we had on the phone, all that shit was just keeping me alive, really.”

UY SCUTI, Thug’s first new studio album since 2023’s Business Is Business, arrived last Friday. In addition to Mariah the Scientist, the album also counts features from Cardi B and Sexyy Red, among others. Listen here, then be sure to pick up a physical copy on Complex.
