Ne-Yo dropped in on Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon 3 stream this week, at one point opening up to the streamer and his crew about the “phenomenal” love life he says he has thanks to polyamory.

“My love life is phenomenal,” the Self Explanatory artist said during his appearance Wednesday night. “I’m in a great space. I am currently in a polyamorous relationship. I have four beautiful ladies that move with me on the regular. They’re actually here.”

As frequent readers will note, Ne-Yo has openly discussed his affinity for polyamory in the past, including earlier this year when he signaled that he very much doesn’t care about those who are critical of the lifestyle. In March, he shared a video to Instagram introducing each of his four romantic partners, telling fans “we happy over here.”

Asked during his conversation with Kai on Wednesday to elaborate on what led him to pursue polyamory, Ne-Yo pointed to his divorce, which he says spurred a vow of outright honesty.

“I’m 45 years old,” Ne-Yo said. “At this point in my life, everything I do is about what’s best for me, what’s best for my kids, what’s best for my tribe. That’s it. I’mma keep it a buck with you. I was married before this, to one woman. Things didn’t go well. I made my mistakes. We got divorced, a lot of people got hurt in the process, and I told myself at that moment I ain’t lying to nobody about nothing ever again.”

At the time, Ne-Yo added, one of the women who is now among his four partners was “already around.” Ne-Yo said his epiphany led him to approach her about what he wanted moving forward.

“I went, ‘Listen, you know I rock with you. I absolutely rock with you. But it ain’t just you,’” he said. “‘I also rock with her, and her, and her. So what I wanna do is bring this whole thing together. If you with it, let’s rock. If you’re not, that’s cool too. No love lost. You go your way and I go mine.’ That’s the only way it works.”

Elsewhere, Ne-Yo was asked about the sleeping situation in his house, prompting him to reveal his fondness for beds of the Alaskan King variety.

“That’s like two California Kings next to each other,” he said. “You gotta get that mattress made.”
