"Bby it’s chess, not checkers," Spice said.

Ice Spice, fresh off the release of the official video for her M.I.A.-sampling new track “Baddie Baddie,” says “somebody thought they ate” buying views for her.

The playful remark comes after social media chatter over the Spice and Evil Twins-directed video centered on bots speculation. As of this writing, the video was nearing seven million views following its release on Wednesday, Oct. 15. It was also at No. 14 on YouTube’s trending chart.

“Somebody thought they ate buying views for me,” Spice said in an X post shared on Thursday, Oct. 16. “Bby it’s chess, not checkers.”

Not surprisingly, the unspecified “somebody” in Spice’s remark quickly led to additional speculation.

As previously reported, the video, seen below, ends with Spice receiving a DoorDash order. However, instead of actual food being delivered, the camera moves in close to reveal the word “TEA” emblazoned on the bottom of the bag.

This isn't the first instance of Spice-centered speculation to make headlines in recent weeks. Last month, some fans were expectedly quick to assume that key lines from a teased Spice track, possibly titled “Pretty Privilege,” were aimed at Cardi B. The snippet in question was shared following the surfacing of alleged leaked audio of a phone call between Spice’s manager and the Am I the Drama? artist.

“PR said no clapping back,” Spice raps in the track.

As pointed out at the time, however, many were quick to argue that Cardi wasn’t the target after all. Instead, they pointed to Stunna Sandy as a possibility. On "Baddie Baddie," Ice raps, "I know that she wanna be me, but she is not doin' it well"—another line likely aimed at Sandy, who is often compared to Ice for her looks and rap style.
