T-Pain gave a musical send-off to Ozzy Osbourne upon news of the late rock legend's death on Tuesday (July 22).

In 2023, T-Pain covered 1970 Black Sabbath classic "War Pigs" on his seventh studio album, On Top of the Covers. After seeing a video of T-Pain perform the track live last January, Ozzy reposted it, calling it the "best cover."

The R&B vocalist didn't forget the late musician's kind words, and reshared the performance on X, formerly Twitter, along with a tribute to the "Prince of Darkness.'"

"Heartbroken by the news. I was blessed to be able to cover War Pigs and get your recognition. Ozzy Forever 🤘🏿," he wrote.

T-Pain spoke to Stereogum in 2023 and shared that it was actor and Tenacious D member Jack Black who inspired him to cover "War Pigs."

"Like, 'War Pigs' — I would always go to a clip of Jack Black singing it on a talk show," he told the outlet. "Anytime Jack Black comes up in conversation, I always go to that clip and just show people that he did 'War Pigs.' I grew a liking to the song from that."

T-Pain joins Elton John, Pearl Jam, Ice-T and more artists who've said goodbye to Osbourne on social media.
