Ozzy Osbourne received an outpouring of tributes upon the news of his death.
On Tuesday (July 22), the family of the late rock legend and Black Sabbath frontman announced that the metal pioneer, born John Michael Osbourne, had passed away this morning at 76 years old. Just two weeks before his death, Osbourne performed his final Black Sabbath show in Birmingham, England.
Famous peers and fans of Osbourne, including fellow British musician Elton John, rock artist Jack White and television personality Piers Morgan mourned 'The Prince of Darkness' on social media.
"He was a dear friend and a huge trailblazer who secured his place in the pantheon of rock gods - a true legend," wrote John, who added that Osbourne was "one of the funniest people" he'd ever met.
Public Enemy's Flavor Flav wrote on X that he was "heartbroken" over Osbourne's passing and shared a clip from the late rocker's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction last year.
Also sharing parting words for Osbourne was rapper, actor, and Body Count frontman Ice-T, who called Sabbath "the creators of heavy metal."
