UPDATED 6/5/25 12:50 p.m. ET: A judge has reportedly denied DDG's motion to prevent Halle Bailey from traveling with their son, Halo, to Italy. The actress-singer is permitted to take the 18-month-old out of the country for personal and professional reasons.

In DDG's temporary restraining order request, the streamer and rapper said he considered Bailey to be a "risk" to their child's safety. In court documents, Bailey explained that it was necessary for her to be filming in Italy from June 7 to August 4.

"This is my source of income, on which Halo and I rely to pay all bills," the document read.

The 25-year-old added that DDG "has not contributed any regular support since Halo was born."

"I will be held liable for damages to this film if I am not there, which I believe would be a breach of my contract. I cannot leave Halo with Darryl, as Darryl will be out of town a majority of those months," she continued.

Additionally, Bailey claimed that her ex-boyfriend has "exaggerated, lied and misconstrued" details about her mental health. The former Grown-ish star says that she's been vocal about her struggles with "anxiety, depression and previous thoughts of suicide," which she has "received treatment" for.

"I have been and remain 100% available and capable as a parent to our son, Halo," she stated. "Had Darryl really been concerned about my parenting, he would have taken action prior to this time. He has never sought custody orders or any orders protecting Halo until today, the day that my DVRO [domestic violence restraining order] was set."

The legal battle unfolding between exes DDG and Halle Bailey continued with the former filing a petition for sole custody of their young child, Halo.

In the filing, DDG made several concerning claims about Bailey and shared alleged text exchanges the two had in which the actress and singer allegedly threatened to take her own life over the disintegration of their relationship. DDG also accused Bailey of physically abusing him and secretly tracking his movements by placing AirTags on his vehicles.

It's worth noting that while DDG submitted text messages he says are from his conversations with Halle, it's unclear what context may be missing.

What did Halle Bailey allegedly say in the text messages to DDG?

Along with the streamer and rapper making an emergency request for Bailey not to take their son, Halo, out of the country, alleged text interactions between the former couple were unveiled on Wednesday (June 4). The concerning messages are part of DDG's restraining order filing, in which he accused The Little Mermaid star of "growing hostility" involving his "professional collaborations with other women" and a "fixation" on his previous relationships.

The alleged messages, which Complex has obtained and viewed, show Bailey accusing DDG, born Darryl Granberry Jr., of cheating and evading taking care of their son on multiple occasions.

Halle accuses DDG of cheating

In a text from March 21 of last year (2024), Bailey allegedly wrote that she "found out" about DDG having an affair in Mexico with "Lala," presumably influencer Lala Baptiste.

The two have been seen collaborating on content together shared across social media and streams.

DDG accuses Halle of wanting to "kill" herself over his Sexyy Red tweet

On the same day, Bailey accused DDG of not caring about her or Halo, to which DDG replied, "You want to kill yourself because I tweeted sexy red [sic] a good rapper? this literally makes no sense." The tweet in question was uploaded by DDG last year. "sexyy redd top 5 female rapper of all time," he wrote at the time.

DDG claims Halle threatened self harm and suicide

In the court docs, DDG alleges that Halle made repeated threats of self-harm and suicide, and used "emotional coercion and manipulation" throughout their relationship to "exert her control" over him. DDG also claimed that on March 21, 2024, Halle threatened suicide before attempting to drive while emotionally distressed with the child in the car. He says he was so concerned for their son Halo's safety that he reached out to Halle’s godmother for help. He also alleges that she sent similarly threatening messages in September and November 2024.

The interaction took an even darker turn with Bailey allegedly begging DDG to take Halo and accusing her then-boyfriend of wanting her to "die."

"I'm genuinely scared of you man," DDG replied in the alleged text exchange. "I feel like you're gonna kill me in my sleep one day." The two would break up seven months later.

DDG claims Halle took his gun and threatened to end her life

According to court documents, DDG claims that Halle threatened her life with his gun, which she allegedly took following a "particularly volatile" argument in August 2023. "Without my consent, she took the weapon and left the house," read the court docs.

"On March 21, 2024, Petitioner sent messages threatening to kill herself and made statements that suggested she might harm our son. She then attempted to drive while in emotional distress with our child in the car," the docs read. "I was so concerned for Halo's safety that I contacted Petitioner's godmother, asking her to intervene. On at least two other occasions that I can recall — one in September 2024 and another in November 2024 - Petitioner sent similarly threatening messages."

DDG claims Halle placed AirTags on his cars

DDG alleged that during Halle Bailey’s pregnancy (April–December 2023), he discovered Apple AirTags hidden in all three of his vehicles, which he believes she used to stalk and monitor him. He says he began receiving repeated AirTag tracking alerts on his devices and, with the help of his mother and her fiancé (who is also his driver), eventually located the concealed AirTags after several attempts to detect them.

Elsewhere in the court docs, DDG's mom, Tonya Granberry, corroborated her son's AirTag claims with an account of her own. "The first AirTag was discovered in June 2023, Darryl called me that night, stating that Petitioner, Halle Bailey, had shown up uninvited to a movie theater in Beverly Hills where he was attending a film with a female friend," she said. Granberry added that she and her son found another AirTag the next day hidden under the seat of his Maybach.

What else do the court documents claim?

DDG also submitted photos of a cut on his thumb and multiple bruises on his forearm, which he claims to have sustained from Bailey.

In his motion, DDG said that Bailey poses an "imminent emotional and psychological risk" to their child, whom she planned to fly to Italy with on Saturday to shoot an upcoming film. Just weeks before, Bailey was granted temporary custody of Halo and a temporary restraining order against DDG, accusing him of physical and emotional abuse. Issues in their coparenting were exposed in April, when DDG alleged being given limited contact with Halo.
