Donald Trump is calling for “major investigations” into the entertainers who supported Kamala Harris’ 2024 election.
Those celebrities include Beyoncé, Oprah Winfrey, Bruce Springsteen, and Bono. Trump took to the Truth Social app to lob his threat, writing that their endorsements were “corrupt and unlawful.”
Unsurprisingly, Trump didn’t provide evidence for the allegations, instead offering up threats in a series of questions.
“How much did Kamala Harris pay Bruce Springsteen for his poor performance during her campaign for president?” he wrote in all caps. “Why did he accept that money if he is such a fan of hers? Isn’t that a major and illegal campaign contribution? What about Beyoncé? … And how much went to Oprah, and Bono??? I am going to call for a major investigation into this matter.”
He continued, “Candidates aren’t allowed to pay for endorsements, which is what Kamala did, under the guise of paying for entertainment. In addition, this was a very expensive and desperate effort to artificially build up her sparse crowds. It’s not legal! For these unpatriotic ‘entertainers,’ this was just a corrupt & unlawful way to capitalize on a broken system. Thank you for your attention to this matter!!!”
According to Variety, he then directed his ire at Bey, repeating claims previously made by Candace Owens, who said the pop star was paid millions to co-sign Harris at her Houston rally last fall. Tina Knowles later said her daughter’s appearance was self-funded and called Owens’ accusations “false.”
“According to news reports, Beyoncé was paid $11,000,000 to walk onto a stage, quickly endorse Kamala, and walk off to loud booing for never having performed, not even one song!” Trump wrote on Monday morning, per Variety. Again, he didn’t offer any evidence to support his claim.
The president’s tirades arrive after Springsteen slammed Trump on stage at multiple shows, calling the Trump administration “corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous.”
