Benny Blanco is a silly guy.
The Jennifer Hudson Show staff welcomed him with song and dance in the Spirit Tunnel, to which Blanco showed up barefoot and with a bouquet of roses. In a clip from the moment, the Grammy-nominated producer is seen handing flowers to employees before he tosses the rest of them at the camera and smiles.
Elsewhere, Blanco and Hudson discussed his 37th birthday with the host asking how he celebrated. He revealed that his fiancée, Selena Gomez had never been to prom before so he threw one for his birthday (and yes, at this point he decided to put on shoes, though they were just slides).
He also shared who said, “I love you” first. “She actually said, ‘I love you’ first. It was crazy,” he said, describing how she said it in the hospital after having surgery on her hand, as she was coming off anesthesia.
The couple dropped off their first collaborative album, I Said I Love You First on March 21. The 14-track project includes features from Gracie Abrams, J Balvin, The Marías, and Tainy, and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. It also spawned four songs that entered the Billboard Hot 100: “Call Me When You Break Up,” Ojos Tristes,” “How Does It Feel to Be Forgotten,” and “Sunset Blvd.”
Doubling down on his silliness: last year, Blanco tapped pedicure artist @nailedbytav to hand-paint a toenail design inspired by Persian rugs.
