Bad Bunny's 30-day residency is projected to be a major boon for business in Puerto Rico.

As reported by CNN, the 31-year-old artist is expected to generate over $200 million in economic impact for the island of Puerto Rico. According to the island's tourism board, Discover Puerto Rico, roughly 600,000 people are expected to visit specifically for the residency. That's about twice the usual visitors to the island during this time of year.

The estimate is based only on hotel packages booked by the production company with the firm, which means it doesn't consider individuals who opted to book a hotel independently. Compared to this time last year, there's been a 70 percent increase in hotel occupancy thanks to Bad Bunny's shows. They were also booked months in advance, since the residency sold out the same day he announced the shows in January.

During the first night of the residency on Friday (July 11), Bad Bunny was joined by LeBron James, who danced on stage while enjoying a drink. The shows will continue through to September 14, and for many people in the United States, it will be their own opportunity to catch him, since he won't be playing the mainland anytime soon. In fact, he announced a World Tour recently, and he won't play a single show there.
