Newly surfaced photos allegedly show D4vd in the same neighborhood where Celeste Rivas lived are circulating online.
One of the first photos, which was examined by TMZ, reportedly sees the 20-year-old singer (born David Anthony Burke) in Lake Elsinore, California, which is 70 miles from downtown Los Angeles. He was supposedly standing .3 miles, or a roughly six-minute walk, from the home where 15-year-old Rivas was living with her family before her disappearance in April 2024.
An alleged photo of Rivas and the singer appearing together in what appears to be a screenshot of a FaceTime call is also making rounds. However, authorities have not confirmed if the photo is authentic.
Los Angeles police are conducting a homicide investigation after Rivas’ decomposed, dismembered body was discovered earlier this month in the front trunk of the singer’s Tesla. The car had been abandoned in the Hollywood Hills and later towed to an impound lot.
"She appears to have been deceased inside the vehicle for an extended period of time before being found," said the medical examiner in a statement before the deceased was officially identified.
Multiple individuals who live on the block where D4vd’s Tesla was left abandoned told TMZ that the LAPD swept the area to search for any surveillance video showing the car in an effort to identify the driver. Police are reportedly seeking footage of the main road where the car was parked in addition to any alleyways the car might have driven through.
The search has supposedly become more complicated because most of the homes in the area are “party houses and short-term rentals,” which means police need to get in touch with their owners, per TMZ.
D4vd had not been in Los Angeles for more than a month, and it is unclear who last drove the car. Authorities have not named any suspects nor persons of interest.
Rivas’ mother, who suspected the discovered remains might have been her daughter’s, also told the outlet she had a boyfriend named David.
TMZ also previously noted that both Celeste and D4vd have the same “Shhh…” tattoo on their right index finger.
D4vd was set to perform in Seattle on Wednesday night but it was canceled hours after L.A. authorities identified Rivas’ body.
The North American leg of D4vd's concert tour is scheduled to end on Sept. 20 in Los Angeles before beginning performances in Europe on Oct. 1. It's not immediately clear if the tour will continue as originally planned.
