D4vd's family home in Texas was swarmed by police after a false report of gunfire just days after Celeste Rivas’ body was found in his Tesla, according to TMZ.
Police body cam footage obtained by TMZ shows officers arriving at the 20-year-old singer’s family home in Hempstead, Texas on Sept. 18. Officers approached with guns drawn following a 911 call reporting gunshots, a woman screaming, and someone dead outside the house.
When police knocked, it was D4vd’s parents who answered the door, appearing stunned and confused. Audio from the body cam captures the “Romantic Homicide” singer’s mother explaining that four people live in the home and that her daughter and son were upstairs.
As TMZ reports, D4vd has a younger brother and sister, which suggests that the singer may not have been present, or if he was, his parents didn’t mention him. Around the time of the swatting incident, D4vd had been touring in support of his Withered album, performing as recently as Sept. 15 in Portland, Oregon, but canceled his Sept. 17 concert in Seattle, shortly after the LAPD identified Rivas’ body.
In the footage, D4vd’s father can be heard saying, “Someone is messing with us,” while his mother expressed concerns that someone may be on their property. Officers assured them they would check the area before leaving.
Police reportedly stayed for less than 20 minutes, and no incident report was filed, indicating it was a swatting prank.
The incident came days after the shocking discovery of Rivas’ body in D4vd’s Tesla in Los Angeles. Sources told TMZ that the singer’s friends believed Rivas was 19. Although she had been reported missing from her Lake Elsinore, California home earlier in 2024, authorities suspect she may have been dead for weeks before being found.
D4vd (born David Anthony Burke) has not issued any public statements regarding the investigation. He canceled the remainder of his world tour on Sept. 19 and paused the release of the deluxe edition of his Withered album. He has not made any public appearances since ending the tour and moving out of his Hollywood Hills home, where police had previously searched.
