Kevin Durant razzled and dazzled in Team USA’s complete domination of Serbia at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The first half of the basketball match saw the three-time Olympic Gold winner (and two-time NBA champion) score 21 points without missing a shot — and the internet went crazy for it.

Up to that point, Durant hadn't played any of Team USA’s exhibition games because of a persistent calf injury and decided to come off the bench.

And then, get this. Durant’s never dropped 20 points unmissed from the field in ANY half while in the NBA.

When it comes to helping Team USA win, it’s clear that KD’s on different timing. In just nine minutes of the first half, he hit all eight of his shots — including three trey balls. He finished with 23 points, clearly taking a step back in the second half because he torched in the first.

Joining him to stuff the stat sheet was LeBron James who contributed another 21 points. He was also perfect from the floor in the first half (shooting five for five). In a post-game interview, LeBron complimented KD’s performance, saying, “To have KD on my side is a treat for sure.”

Team USA’s two-pronged attack proved too much for Serbia and Nikola Jokic, who put up 20 points but shot just one for six from three.

Durant’s no stranger to game-winning performances at the Olympics. He’s already the all-time leading scorer for Team USA and has led the team to three gold medals. If he keeps up this level of play, especially coming off the bench, there’s no doubt that he’ll take home a forth one.

Next up for Durant and Team USA is a match against South Sudan on July 31. Let’s see what the squad cooks up then.

Here’s the best of the internet reacting to Durant’s huge half against Serbia.
