Kevin Durant Admits He Rejoices Every Morning for Ruining a Possible LeBron-Led Cavaliers Dynasty

He laughed about it on X after a fan blamed him.

No matter how good or bad his NBA season goes, Kevin Durant admitted that one thing makes him happy: ruining the Cleveland Cavaliers’ chance at having a LeBron James-led dynasty.
Durant admitted his cheerful secret on X when a fan tagged him in a clip of Kyrie Irving scoring for the Cavs in 2017. “Oh man @KDTrey5 fuck you bro for ruining what would have been a dynasty in cleveland,” wrote the fan.

KD, being the happy troll he is, responded back with a laugh, followed by how he felt about eliminating that team’s chances. “I rejoice every morning that it didn’t happen,” he wrote.

KD apparently had time today. Check out the rest of his responses to other X users below.

Of course, KD can’t necessarily say that he was the only reason the dynasty didn’t happen; it’s safe to say he was a huge part of it.

Irving was joined by James on the Cavs in 2014, setting up a dynamic duo that would, in their three years playing together, make it to the NBA Finals three times — and win a title once. The two losses in the Finals came from the Golden State Warriors, who were led by KD, Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson.

Perhaps fed up with all the Ls, Irving decided to stop getting his head beat in with the Cavs and take his talents to Boston to join the Celtics. James eventually joined the Los Angeles Lakers.

KD’s honest response to a fan’s post aligns with his unspoken promise to always keep it as real as possible on social media. Back in March, KD had some words for Skip Bayless after the sports journalist called him out on his show.

"Kevin looks like he's on his last mental legs," Bayless said. "Not his last physical legs, just mental legs. He's not really into it the way he used to be into it when he went to Golden State."

KD reposted a clip from the show, writing with it, “Fuck it, we’re both washed, it was a great run @RealSkipBayless.”
