Jake Paul and Mike Tyson have finally faced off at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Saturday night — a bout to remember, or not, depending on who you ask.
The fight began shortly after 11 p.m. ET, with both fighters quickly exchanging punches to gain an advantage. The match went the full eight rounds, with no major knockouts and Paul winning by unanimous decision.
Perhaps one of the of the most interesting moments—aside from Paul making his entrance into the ring via Low Rider—came when the announcers tried to determine whether Tyson was biting his gloves or adjusting a faulty mouthpiece. After the fight, Iron Mike explained that he has a "biting fixation."
Tyson and Paul were supposed to fight earlier this year but the 58-year-old suffered an ulcer flare-up during a flight that pushed it back to November. The fight received a lot of attention thanks to an extensive promo run that included a pre-fight documentary on Netflix.
As he often does with high-stakes sporting events, Drake placed a $355,000 bet on Tyson to beat Paul. "I’m late but I’m here money on the liiiiiiiiine for today and tmrw @stake I need some dubs," he wrote in the caption of the post shared to Instagram.
The most dramatic thing to come from all of this was probably when things got intense during the weigh-in when Tyson slapped Paul across the face after the latter appeared to step on the boxing legend's foot.
Naturally, the internet had mixed reactions to what they witnessed after the fight, with some mocking Paul for lacking real competition and others expressing disappointment in Tyson for not knocking out the cocky fighter. Check out how people on social media reacted to the below.
