Congratulations are due to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, who have announced their engagement after nearly two years of dating.
On Tuesday (August 26), after the couple shared photos from their proposal in a collaborative Instagram post, some of Kelce's Kansas City Chiefs teammates and Swift's musical friends flocked to social media with their support. Among those who liked the post were Swift's longtime producer Jack Antonoff, Sabrina Carpenter, Megan Trainor and Gracie Abrams. Fans of the "That's So True" vocalist, who was a supporting act on Swift's Eras Tour, also celebrated the engagement while in line for Abrams' concert in Mexico City.
Unexpectedly commenting on the engagement was President Donald Trump, who wished the couple "a lot of luck" during a press conference. "I think he's a great player, a great guy, and I think she's a terrific person."
In separate Instagram Stories, the Mahomes congratulated Swift and Kelce, with Brittany calling the couple "two of the most genuine people." Patrick also shared the couple's proposal photos on his Story with Swift's "So High School" as the soundtrack.
In addition to the support of their celebrity fans, the Swifties swarmed TikTok with their excitement. Swift's Ralph Lauren-designed dress in the engagement photos has sold out since the Instagram carousel was posted.
Along with several photos, Swift and Kelce captioned their post with, "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨."
Swift, who will soon release her twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, has allegedly been teasing the couple's engagement for months, as they took pictures with wedding planner Ellie Nottoli in June.
