Marcus Jordan says he reached out to his father, NBA legend Michael Jordan, to make amends after the deaths of Ozzy Osbourne and Hulk Hogan.

As reported by TMZ, on Friday (July 25), the 34-year-old entrepreneur announced via Instagram that he'd contacted both his father and mother, Juanita Vanoy, after a period of estrangement. The outreach was inspired by the recent deaths of Osbourne and Hogan, who Jordan called "two icons" of his childhood.

"Reached out to both my parents & my siblings, cuz life is short and it's important to spend time with the people you love," Marcus wrote.

Marcus also updated his IG followers on his ongoing sobriety journey, saying that he "almost had a drink." The reason, he explained, was that he was upset over how social media has changed.

"It was disheartening realizing how the 'fun' has been stripped from social media," he wrote. "It used to be 'OK' to be weird and have opinions on social media, to learn from mistakes publicly. Now it's been so normalized to 'fit' a certain mold or into society."

Marcus has spent over 100 days sober after admitting to substance abuse issues earlier this year. In February, he was busted with DUI charges, cocaine possession and resisting an officer.

Although Marcus didn't specify why he and Michael were on bad terms, it may have been because the former Chicago Bulls player disapproved of his relationship with ex-girlfriend Larsa Pippen. From 1997 to 2021, Larsa was married to Jordan's former Bulls teammate Scottie Pippen. Boding well for the Jordan family reunion is the fact that she has no plans to double back on Marcus, as she's currently in a relationship with Haitian-American basketball player Jeff Coby.
