Floyd Mayweather finds a potential fight with Jake Paul laughable.
The retired professional boxer was a guest on The Late Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night and plainly expressed that a fight wouldn't be to Paul's benefit. Around the 6-minute mark of the video below, Fallon asked about his reaction to the Paul-Mike Tyson fight, which was held last November.
"I don't really know where to go with this subject," Mayweather said. "Because if I say something, I'm going to get backlash."
He continued, "No matter what I say, it's always, it's not right. Well, basically, when you're watching boxing for free, you can have millions and millions and millions, hundreds of millions of views."
"But when you're watching Floyd Mayweather, you have to pay. I did pay-per-view numbers," he said. "Check the record."
When asked about his 2021 match with Jake's older brother, Logan Paul, Mayweather called the event an "exhibition" and joked that Paul "moved to WWE" because he wanted to "wrestle."
Mayweather thinks that defeating Jake Paul would be simple for him, unlike Tyson, who lost in a unanimous decision.
"Easy. Easy," Mayweather called the matchup. "Too easy. Too easy. At 48, too easy."
On Thursday, Paul responded to Mayweather's comments on X, formerly Twitter, calling the former boxer a "bum."
"Deji gave you a black eye in an event that had 4,000 people in it. Deji hahahah," Jake continued, referring to the YouTuber. "I would knock you out in 2 rounds and you can't sniff Mike Tyson’s toe."
