It would appear that the Mavs' desire to tank is over, at least according to rumors being shared by The Ringer's Kevin O'Connor. According to O'Connor, ever since Dirk Nowitzki announced his intent to join the franchise for a 21st season, the team's front office has been discussing ways to get the team back in position to rack up more W's than L's. O'Connor adds that multiple league sources expect them to pursue a trio of big men that include: DeMarcus Cousins, Julius Randle, and DeAndre Jordan (you know, again).
As O'Connor wrote:
The Mavs also landed the fifth spot for next month's draft, which probably isn't as high as they want but there should still be some talent available.
