Rudy Gobert spent some one-on-one time with his son over the weekend.

On Sunday, the Minnesota Timberwolves player took to his Instagram Story to share a photo of himself playing with his 1-year-old son, Romeo in the grass, alongside the caption, “Great day.”

Gobert made headlines last week when he reportedly broke up with his pregnant partner, Julia Bonilla. Last Friday, reports surfaced that he had called it quits with Bonilla and kicked her and Romeo out of his home.

According to TMZ, Gobert was trying to figure out a custody agreement with Bonilla, but wanted to do so after the Timberwolves’ season ends.

On Saturday, he confirmed on his IG Story that he and Bonilla had split.

Gobert began by saying that there has been “a lot of inaccurate information out there,” and that he and Bonilla are “currently in the painful process of redefining our coparenting relationship.”

"Being a father is one of the most profound and meaningful [experiences] I will get to live. It is one of my most important life purposes and will be so forever. I’m fully committed to keep supporting the well-being of all the people that I care about," he added.

Bonilla is currently expecting her second child with Gobert. She and Romeo also attended the Wolves' final regular-season game last month. She is now reportedly looking to move back to her home country of France, though Gobert wants her to remain in the U.S. until they can figure out child custody postseason.

Last March, Gobert told TMZ Sports that welcoming his first child into the world was a “blessing.”

After defeating the Golden State Warriors in five games, the Timberwolves are gearing up to face the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Tuesday.
