If the Cardinals lose to the Panthers on Saturday afternoon, Larry Fitzgerald's career with Arizona might be over. Because according to a Fox Sports Arizona report, the heralded wide receiver doesn't expect to be back with the team next season. It seems Fitzgerald doesn't like the role he has had to assume with the Cards this season and is interested in making a change.
Despite this report, Fitzgerald spoke with reporters yesterday and told them that he's not thinking about what the future holds just yet.
"It has not crossed my mind," he said after practice on Wednesday. "I'm in the midst of an opportunity that doesn't come too often, so all my energy and everything is focused on helping my team win."
The Cardinals have expressed an interest in keeping Fitzgerald in recent weeks. But because of how much money he is scheduled to make next season, it might not be possible for the Cards to keep him. Stay tuned to see if he ends up staying with Arizona.
