Kyler Murray has deleted a controversial series of photos he posted wearing a Michael Vick jersey while posing with his pet Pit bull.

During media availability on September 17, Murray told reporters, "In no way, shape or form do I condone animal cruelty or dog fighting, you know, whatever it is. For me personally, you all saw me wear the Michael Vick jersey, a player that I admired very much growing up."

He added, "And then being home with my pup, you know, my dogs Trunks and Swoosh, they both get treated like kings so it’s not like, in no way shape or form am I condoning that. But yes, I saw how it affected people and I decided to take it down. I apologize to anybody and whoever I affected with that.”

Murray took a ton of heat earlier this week when he posted the series of photos in a Virginia Tech Vick jersey and posing with his young pit bull, Trunks. Murray limited comments on the Instagram post.

It was earlier this summer when Murray shared he had gotten Trunks, a pit bull. He posted photos of the dog in June with the caption, "Newest member, my son Trunks.."

Users on social media sounded off on the Arizona Cardinals quarterback after the Vick photos. One said, "KylerMurray posting a picture with his pitbull while wearing a Mile Vick jersey. How stupid and tone deaf can you get?"

Another said, "Like im someone who 'forgave' Vick as a fan & will defend him since all day. But this is a terrible look for KylerMurray trying to make up for making his damn self look like a troll w that fit last week."

It's currently unclear whether or not the team pressured Murray to take down the series of photos in the Vick jersey or if he made the decision solely on his own.
