Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham has launched a GoFundMe campaign, which she jokingly said was to cover all of her WNBA fines.

In a post shared on her X, formerly Twitter, account on Thursday (Oct. 2), Cunningham shared a link to a GoFundMe campaign. “I could use your help with my fundraiser on GoFundMe,” she wrote, with the page initially reading that her $10 million goal would cover her mounting WNBA fines. “Please share, support, or donate—every small action counts.” After the post got a negative reaction on social media, she followed up to clarify that it was a joke.

“This is a joke,” she wrote. “Relax you clowns… I set a goal for 10 million. There’s just no way you can actually think I’m actually serious.” In an update on the campaign page, she wrote, “This is more of a joke than anything. For fines only or to charity or for a yacht idk.” She also revealed that she would donate the money, which has since changed to a $26,000 goal, to charity. “A yacht would be nice, but whatever we raise here will be going directly to Ronald McDonald House Charities,” she added. “I’ll take care of my own fines. Y’all are the best.”

Over the past season, Cunningham has received multiple fines for her comments criticizing WNBA officials on social media and her Show Me Something podcast. She also got a fine for getting into an altercation with Jacy Sheldon of the Connecticut Suns.

In a postgame interview on Thursday, Cunningham once again ripped into WNBA officials and what she perceived as poor leadership. "Our leadership needs to be held accountable," she said, per USA Today. "I think that there are a lot of people in positions of power. They might be really great business people, but they don't know shit about basketball."
