As it turns out, Nike also made a more limited version of The Wizard of Oz SB Dunks as a previously unseen ruby-red colorway has now surfaced.
Bluetile Skateboards founder David Toole posted a video on social media today of the rare ruby slipper-themed collab. Rumors were circulating that this alternate version was created alongside the poppy field-inspired pair, given the accompanying black bag packaging hiding the sneaker, but this is the first time we're seeing the shoe.
This variation of The Wizard of Oz SB Dunks directly references Dorothy's ruby-red slippers in the film and features a sequin upper with flame at the forefoot as a nod to the wicked witch's hands burning while touching the slippers. This pair also comes with alternate insoles, which show the slipper in the classic film.
According to sources familiar with the release, multiple pairs of this alternate colorway were produced, but it's currently unclear how many pairs are out in the wild. Check out a closer look at the rare ruby slipper version of The Wizard of Oz SB Dunks below.
