As we learned in the initial leaks of the LeBron 22 last year, Nike is collaborating with the popular board game Monopoly on multiple colorways of LeBron James' latest signature shoe.
One of the styles is this all-blue Monopoly x Nike LeBron 22, shown here. The rich blue hue used on the entirety of the shoe appears to be inspired by the Boardwalk and Park Place properties on the Monopoly board. There are also gold accents on the midfoot piping modeled after the Swoosh logo and James' signature that are possibly references to the "Luxury Tax" portion of the game board.
Despite images of the Monopoly x Nike LeBron 22 surfacing, release details for the shoe have yet to be announced by either of the parties involved. Check back soon for official updates.
UPDATE (11/13): Nike has officially unveiled the Monopoly x Nike LeBron 22 collection. The project includes the "Currency" and "Token" colorways, with the first style arriving on Nov. 15 at Nike.com for $200. The blue-based makeup will be released on Nov. 19.
Aside from the releases, Hasbro and Nike are transforming LeBron James' House Three Thirty community center in Akron, OH, to celebrate Monopoly Day and the 90th anniversary of the board game on Nov. 19. Attendees will receive a limited Monopoly x LeBron James board game and product from this collab.
