The revitalization of the Adidas SL 72 continues with the help of Bad Bunny and the release of their upcoming three-shoe collab.
Images of the Bad Bunny x Adidas SL 72 pack were first shared by @Arab_Lincoln on Instagram today, but release info hasn't been revealed yet. The styles include a blue and yellow pair, a brown and orange colorway, as well as a tonal grey makeup. Bad Bunny's version of the runner features a nylon upper combined with an extra layer of mesh on the mudguard. The sneaker also incorporates special Bad Bunny branding within the Three Stripes on the sides, while additional Adidas logos appear on the heel.
At the time of writing, a firm release date for this Bad Bunny x Adidas SL 72 collection has yet to be announced. Check back soon for official updates.
UPDATE (12/10): Adidas has confirmed that Bad Bunny's SL 72 collection arrives on Saturday, Dec. 14, at Adidas.com/badbunny and at select Adidas retailers for $160 apiece.
UPDATE (12/13): Ahead of the release tomorrow, Adidas has shared some insight with Complex regarding the design of Bad Bunny's SL 72 collab. The brand's design director, Rafael Mayorga, confirmed that the artist likes to keep a running shoe in his rotation and landed on the SL 72 for their latest project. Mayorga also confirmed that the collab came about after the brand hosted a design workshop with Bad Bunny creative director Jan Anthony Oliveras. In that workshop, the collaborators ripped the bottom off the Neftenga and stuck it on the SL 72, as seen in the image above.
"We were throwing ideas on the board, sketching, and experimenting with new silhouettes and shapes. We always keep our archive book handy in case we want to reference something from yesteryear," Mayorga said.
