In 1993, Columbia enlisted Peter Moore, a revolutionary in the footwear design space, to craft the ultimate outdoor shoe. He came up with the Bugaboot, which boasted the functionality of a duck boot—warm and protective against the elements—and the feel and performance of a sneaker. With its vivid colorways that matched Columbia's beloved rain suits, hip hop artists embraced the boot, and it appeared in a number of influential '90s videos.

Thirty-two years later, the sportswear brand is reintroducing the Bugaboot 1 Limited Edition and honoring its iconic designer in the process.
The historical elk brown and waterfall teal colorway combined with the rubber duckboot design and purple laces capture ‘90s flavor of the OG. The 2025 iteration also incorporates Columbia’s latest and greatest technology. A TechLite midsole provides enhanced, lightweight cushioning and impact absorption, while the Omni-Grip outsole uses specially designed gem lug patterns (similar to what you’d find on a car wheel) for all-terrain traction. Its leather upper with elevated stitching supplies both durability and flexibility.
Price: $250
Nodding to the year the Bugaboot first dropped, only 1,993 pairs will be released globally, each embroidered on the outer tongue with its corresponding lot number. The shoe comes in custom packaging that features a luxe black box and collectible keychain.
